Black Editions Group is comprised of three record labels, Black Editions, Thin Wrist Recordings and Vin Du Select Qualitite (VDSQ). Each is dedicated to presenting works by uncompromising artists in ways that most fully realize each artist's vision.
The Black Editions Archive was created to present writings, primary materials, films and interviews that expand the public knowledge of underground artist and movements related to artists it works with.
As part of its programming, Black Editions Group also produces concerts and live events as Black Editions Presents.
Black Editions is a label originally founded to produce definitive editions of the legendary P.S.F. Records catalog from Japan. Black Editions has also begun to produce new works by artists related to the P.S.F. catalog as well as albums further bringing to light historic music from Japan that has expanded the world of sound and music. In 2019 Black Editions entered agreement with the Japanese Jinya label to produce new editions of released and unreleased works by Masayuki Takayanagi a pioneering figure in the worlds of jazz, free improvisation, noise and avant garde music.
Thin Wrist is a post-genre artist's press dedicated to producing new works by artists who's works push the bounds of established musical forms.
VDSQ is a label that began with a concentrated focus on presenting instrumental solo acoustic guitar music by artists that expanded on the instrument's deep roots in blues and folk music. The label has begin to expand with records featuring a wider array of instrumentation and arrangements.
